Lesley Jarvis MD, PhD – President

Lesley’s journey with BCB began when her son, Finn, joined the sailing program at the age of 9. Following Finn’s progression through all the course levels and his completion of two years of junior instructor training, he proudly became an instructor in the program last year. Lesley, too, shares a connection with sailing as she had the unique experience of living aboard a sailboat in San Francisco Bay for several years.  When Lesley is not volunteering with BCB, she has a busy career as a physician and scientist, with a focus on developing treatments for breast cancers and lymphomas.

Amy Ballentine Stevens – Vice President

Amy is a valuable member of the board and currently serves as vice president. Her experience as a local business owner, expert sailor, and boat builder provides invaluable guidance to BCB. Outside of BCB, Amy runs Ballentine’s Boat Shop, Doughdish LLC, Stuart Knockabout LLC, as well as running after her 2 children.

Ghislaine Lacerte – Treasurer

Ghislaine brings a wealth of expertise to her role at BCB, currently serving as President at Business Solutions Accounting, Inc. where she specializes in accounting and tax preparation. In addition to her professional accomplishments, Ghislaine is an avid sailor, often found navigating the waters on her boat, Gemini. Her talents extend beyond finance and sailing, as she is also recognized as an accomplished dancer.

Paul Bushueff – Clerk

Paul Bushueff, is one of the founders of BCB He has served as Board Chairman, President, and Clerk of BCB. He brings a wealth of sailing and boating experience including 6 offshore passages of greater than 1000 miles, a transatlantic crossing in a 46′ sailboat and numerous coastal trips between Florida the Labrador coast and to Baffin Island. He holds a 100 ton Masters License and is a certified US Sailing power boat instructor. He is an instructor for International Offshore Safety at Sea training with the Cruising Club of America and Port Officer for the Ocean Cruising Club. He serves on the Town of Bourne Shore and Harbor Committee.

Kenneth D. Legg PhD. – Director

Ken co-founded BCB in 2006 with a vision to share his love of sailing with the larger Bourne community. Ken has played numerous roles at BCB, including a long tenure as president, and he will continue to serve as a director for many years to come. 

In addition to his passion for both recreational sailing and racing, Ken is also committed to science education.  He has undertaken several Atlantic and pacific trips with Sea Education Association (SEA) out of Woods Hole and volunteered as a scientist on the R/V Laurence M. Gould Antarctic expedition.  Through BCB, he’s realized his dream of imparting his passion for sailing, environmental sciences, and oceanography to upcoming generations. 

David O’Hara – Director

Year after year, Dave earns the title of BCB’s MVP, thanks to his exceptional dedication to maintaining BCB’s fleet and equipment. His background as a high school chemistry teacher is apparent in the way he expertly mentors BCB’s instructors, instilling in them a strong sense of responsibility towards their environment and BCB’s resources.

Susannah Sullivan – Director

Susannah grew up sailing in and around Phinney’s harbor with her family. Her father was an avid sailor and passed down his love of the sport to his children and grandchildren. Susannah and her family became members of BCB when her oldest son started the program in 2018. Since then, her younger two boys have joined the sailing school as well. In the offseason Susannah and her family reside in Medfield, MA. She is a Montessori preschool teacher and an active hockey mom. Susannah is also a co-founder of P.S. I Love You 9821, a custom jewelry and accessories business.
